I recently took some portrait photographs of beautiful 6 month old baby Sophia and her parents in Herne Hill, London. Six months old is a great age to have some portrait photographs taken, as babies are able to hold up their heads on their tummies and can often sit up, even if for a few seconds. More importantly, six months old is a very smiley age! As you can see in the photographs, Sophia was full of beaming smiles and chuckles, although her parents did tell me that the day before she had been even more cheerful if that’s possible! Mind you, the weather was not as good the day before…we had tons of natural light for our session now that summer is almost here. There’s never a perfect time to have family photographs taken, but the next few months of summer are perfect from my point of view in terms of good natural light and warmth. Babies easily become cold and are happiest to be photographed when comfortable and warm at home. Once they can walk, then its time to venture outside, perhaps to a park or even just the garden.
If you have a baby and would like to chat about when would be an optimal time for family portraits then send me a message and we can discuss the best time for your family.
