It’s my collaboration with my clients that helps to create tailor made sessions that give them photographs that they love. If you are unsure about where in your home you would like to hold your session, then I’m happy to share a few tips and examples with you to help you to decide and create a vision unique to your life. It’s often a good idea to keep things simple and choose one routine, time of day and space in your home that you’d like captured to tell your family’s story. As you will see from these images, captured connections, use of natural light and composition are the main elements that make an image work, not the background. As my Granny used to say, “your home isn’t a museum”….it should look lived in, and you’ll want to see all the familiar stuff you live with in the background in future years. This week I will start by focusing on……
This daily routine that you’ve probably done countless times before is actually a really great time to take photographs. Its these everyday moments that always feel the same that really do change…so gradually we barely notice. But years do gradually pass by and before we know it, our kids no longer need us as much at this time of day. Bedtime routines are different with every family and its one of those times in the day that can seem to go by so slowly when you have small kids. As families work together with each other at these special times, everyday ordinary tasks become beautiful moments of connection .
