Family portrait photographer, West London
Here’s just a few from a recent family portrait session in West London.
I really get excited by a few things when I first hear from clients, as I did from Natasha; that they have chosen me because they like my work, and also that they’d like their portraits done at home. If people have recognised something in my photography that they feel speaks to their heart, and feel that I am the right person to photograph their family, I always feel very happy. I’ve been trying to share more of the type of work that I wan to do in the future, which is a photojournalistic approach to life at home with families. There is no ‘right’ type of family that I prefer to work with…since starting out I’ve been blessed to photograph a diverse range of families, both big and small, living in totally different places and homes. The ingredients we actually need to make good photographs are collaboration, good natural light and for both myself and my subjects to feel fully emmersed and present in the moment. The best place to make authentic and meaningful images is at home, where everyone feels that they belong and they find comfort in their surroundings.
The brotherly love, and indeed the closeness of the whole family is so evident in this set of pictures, and that’s why I’m so pleased with them. I hope that in years to come the photographs will grow in significance, as they really do capture all the energy as well as some of the quieter moments from this season of their lives together at home.
