Cocoa Jones Photography
People sometimes ask me how Cocoa Jones Photography got its name. Among my favourite story books I enjoyed as a child are the ‘My Naughty Little Sister’ series by Dorothy Edwards, which are based upon her own childhood memories. They tell the story of a little girl and her little sister who always gets up to mischief, particularly with her friend Bad Harry. In the stories there is a kind old lady neighbour next door who would always bang on the wall in the morning to call My Naughty Little Sister over for a mug of cocoa, so she became known as ‘Mrs Cocoa Jones’ in the books. They are delightfully illustrated by Shirley Hughes, whose artwork sums up the joy of childhood. Now, when I am reading these stories aloud to my children, they quickly become as involved in the tales as I used to, all those years ago!
