This post is all about the Christening of lovely baby Ava Elizabeth at Saint Mary the Virgin Church in Bermondsey, and afterwards at The Mayflower pub opposite the church.
The location couldn’t have been more steeped in history, with the area having a rich background and The Mayflower Pub dating back to 1620.
Ava Elizabeth had lots of family and Godparents who had travelled great distances, including Dubai, to be there for her Christening. It was a lovely, quiet ceremony, followed by lots of fun and laughter at The Mayflower, which used to be Mum Anna’s local pub. Ava Elizabeth didn’t much like having the holy water poured on her head, but once it was over she stopped crying and turned to give me a big grin which was priceless! It really was a privilege to be there to capture all the great moments, both big and small, and I really enjoyed the whole experience of documenting the moments in a fun, creative way.
