Family portrait photography in London, WC1
Here are a few of my very favourites from this weeks portrait photography session in London.
It was great to be able to photograph such an amazing family in a fabulous location, right where they live in WC1, London.
We started off in the British Museum. I love the photograph of the family looking at all the medical equipment, which holds extra significance once you know that they are a couple who both work in medicine. Five year old Samuel clearly has a deep rooted interest in this area, and I can’t help but think that he will one day follow in his parents footsteps.
I had a lovely morning photographing the family in all their favourite haunts, before they head home to Singapore after a years sabbatical.
Whilst the backgrounds are not too important to me, and its the family that I focus nearly all my attention on, it will be good for them to have a record of little details, such as their ‘scooter walk’ to a favourite nearby park and cafe. I have finally taken the plunge, and have opted out of posing people during portrait sessions. I prefer to let the families I photograph to be allowed to be themselves in front of my lens, so that we can create photographs that will truly mean something to them in years to come.
I wish this lovely family all the best on their journey to Singapore and I know they will treasure the moments we captured, a keepsake of their year spent in London.
