Here are a few shots from a lovely family portrait session in Hampstead from 2019.
If you would like to have a shoot at this location in North London this spring, or perhaps another location near to your home, then let me know. If you would like to share your chosen date with a friend and their family, then let me know as it means I can offer both of you a discount. Weekends book up fast for these, so get in touch soon to reserve a date. Have a look at my previous blog post to see more portraits taken at this special location in early May, which is a lovely time for the cottage garden flowers to be in full bloom. If you live south of the river as I do, then there are some great ancient woods that are also great spots at this time of year.
My family portrait sessions are a balanced mix of portraits of the whole family together, wider storytelling shots, and individual and sibling portraits. I use both black and white and colour so that you get a good range of image choices, and even though they are all taken in the same location you’ll be amazed how much variety in angles and viewpoints we’ll achieve.
Having a family portrait session outside on location can be a good option at this time of year; the weather means no need for coats and you can wear dresses and skirts in thinner fabrics. The children have space to run around in and wear off any excess energy and also the light is beautiful at the right time of day.
These on location natural light portrait sessions last only for an hour, so they are a good way to start a weekend morning before you go off and do other things with your family. I think mornings work best as everyone’s clothes are clean and fresh and the children have the most energy and also the light is good then.
I’m so excited to be back outside enjoying the lovely spring weather and greenery once again, and I look forward to meeting families new and old and creating beautiful images for you all.
