Childrens editorial photographer London, for designer Sally Nencini
Here are a few from this weeks lifestyle photography shoot for Sally Nencini’s bespoke knitted toys and homeward. Sally Nencini designs and makes gorgeous and colourful machine-knitted toys, blankets and cushions using soft lambswool. Some of her designs have a vintage theme, whist others are based on drawings that her children have made. It really is a Nencini family enterprise; Sally also upholsters furniture using embroidered fabric based on designs by her husband, artist and designer Peter Nencini. What a truly creative family!
We styled the shoot together, and decided to make a tipi using a range of Sally’s blankets, with her cushions scattered all around. We ended up making a very cosy den indeed that our models didn’t want to leave!
I love Mr and Mrs Rabbit, whilst meanwhile my daughter was eying up a blue and cream stripy monkey….. everyone has their own favourite. Quite a lot of the colours and patterns Sally uses remind me of the era in which I was a child: the good old days of the 1970’s. I edited the photographs to have a nostalgic feel to them, and we were lucky enough to have some sun flare which always adds a special atmospheric quality.
It has been unseasonably cold in London this spring, and despite the sunshine the girls really did need the warm, soft blankets we used to snuggle up in during the shoot. For a more detailed look at Sally’s range head on over to her blog and online shop using the link above.
