Newborn baby photographer Dulwich London
Newborn baby photography is a genre all of it’s own, with many photographers taking pictures of the baby on their own, often in a basket or on a fluffy rug. I take a different approach, photographing the whole family together, capturing all the exciting connections as parents, and sometimes siblings too, bond with their new baby. I also enjoy taking close ups of all the details, such as the baby’s fingers and toes, as well as all the little things that are so unique to newborns….milk spots, soft downy hair, and their tiny wrinkly feet. Being in your own home means that we can revolve the session around the baby’s feeds and naps, and hopefully get some alert time included as well. In this session with Ren, we were lucky enough to have him awake for much of the session, looking up and Mum and Dad with wide open eyes.
Ren rocked his session, and was wide awake for most of it. We took a few milk breaks, and Ren was happy to be cuddled by his parents and have a kick about on the bed for his photoshoot. I always follow the baby’s lead, and because Ren doesn’t much enjoy being bathed so we skipped that idea and instead let him show us what makes him happiest. It’s important that your baby is content through out your session, which leads to some natural and relaxed shots of all the family. I’m always amazed at how alert tiny young newborns are. Ren seemed particularly alert to the sound of the camera shutter, and was looking right into the lens for loads of the pictures which made it so easy for me.
Come and meet gorgeous 4 week old baby, Ren and his Mum and Dad! I promise you’ll think he’s divine.
