Newborn baby lifestyle photographer London
I have always wanted to photograph twin babies, so I was so excited when this photo shoot happened earlier last month. These 10 day old baby boys were little princes to photograph and hang out with, and I am so honored that I got to take their portraits with their very photogenic parents.
I am having to pinch myself lately with all the beautiful babies i’m photographing. Its no secret if you follow me on Instagram, that I used to find this aspect of photography the most challenging. It’s only now, with many years of experience under my belt that I actually LOVE photographing newborn babys. There are many reasons why it can be hard to photograph babies that are so young; its like juggling a lot of balls in the air as you ensure that the babies are content, and you’re still getting good frames. No one wants lots of photos of their crying baby, so its vital that you keep one eye on their level of contentedness, and another on what’s going on through the lens. Technical skills go onto autopilot, while I compose the shot and make sure everyone is comfortable. And that’s actually why I now love it!! Isn’t it funny that we get the biggest sense of achievement and joy out of doing things that challenge us and stretch our skills to the max. I’ve also learned to develop my own voice and style within the genre, and break away from the expected norm of studio photography and posed baby shots. This in turn has meant that I’m only asked to photograph families who share an appreciation of the same natural, relaxed aesthetic, which also brings me so much joy.
So, if you would like natural light photographs taken of your newborn baby, I would LOVE to hear from you. many mothers get in touch with their due date, and we pencil the shoot into our diaries.
