Here are some of my favorites from a recent Christening in Chelsea, London. The baptism took place at Christ Church, a beautiful, small church with gardens, tucked away among the pretty little streets behind Kings Road.
Afterwards there was an Alice in Wonderland themed party at The Ivy Chelsea Garden, with the most amazing party cake I think I’ve ever seen! The children played hide and seek around the chatting grown ups, and I tried to capture all the fun and excitement of both groups.
With Christening photography I love to take a documentary approach, capturing both moments that parents are involved in themselves and also the ones they aare too busy entertaining their guests to notice at the time.These photographs serve as ways to remember every moment from the day, both big (the moment of baptism) and small ( the baby asleep at his own party in his buggy). A few moments are put aside for any group photos that have been requested, but I’m getting more and more cliets looking for purely documentary coverage, which is definitely my favourite type of photography.
